The GoTo range of SkyWatcher Flex telescopes not only excels in visual performance, but also allows for extremely comfortable observing thanks to automatic object search and tracking. To start observing, the telescope is set to two stars and the clockwork is started. Then you can manually find any object and the telescope will follow it. But if you don't feel like manually pushing the telescope, you can use the handheld controller to automatically lock on to any of the 42 900 objects in the database at the touch of a button.
Huge 30 cm optics collect more than twice as much light as popular 20 cm models. This makes it easy to break down star clusters into tiny stars, and the spiral arms of many galaxies are easy to spot. Many interstellar clouds of gas and dust look almost as they do in photographs. Precision-machined (at least diffraction-limited quality), low thermal expansion (Pyrex) material is used for the main mirror, which has a 9-point support for greater mechanical stability.
The unique folding design of the telescopes guarantees unrivalled space-saving during transport. Special mention should be made of the fact that it can be folded to its transport size without disassembly.
The Teflon pads of Dobson's hinge ensure a precise gliding bearing, while the adjustable brake system keeps the telescope balanced at all times.
Precise, 2" Crayford focuser allows for a huge field of view reach, which also comes with a 1.25" adapter. The telescope comes richly equipped: the standard 25 and 10 mm eyepieces provide 60x and 150x magnification, and the 9x50 viewfinder is also standard.
The GoTo mounts are powered by 12V with a cigarette lighter socket cable supplied by the manufacturer, but can also be operated from other power sources (e.g. 12V gel battery, PowerTank or 12V mains adapter)
