The TMB Planetary II (WA Plössl) eyepiece is the perfect choice for those looking for the same excellent imaging and convenience of a well-proven orthoscopic eyepiece as a wide-angle eyepiece in a low-priced eyepiece. They were designed by legendary American optician Thomas Back (hence the TMB designation) and have enjoyed worldwide popularity.
A 16 mm eye relief guarantees comfortable viewing, and the top of the eyepiece can be adjusted with a screw to keep the eye at the ideal distance. The field of view is a respectable 58° and very well corrected. The eyepiece consists of 5 lens elements (except for the 9 mm, which consists of 6 elements) and, of course, all elements are fully multicoated.
The II series features an improved anti-glare solution compared to the first.
