The SkyWatcher Explorer 150/1200PL NewtonianMirror Binoculars are a first choice for those looking for a very high quality mirror binocular at an affordable price that is particularly good for planetary observation. The particularly precisely machined (diffraction limited) parabolic reflector reveals many details of the beauty of the sky. The long focus and small central aperture guarantee above-average sharpness and contrast.
Using high magnification, the surface features of the Moon can be studied in detail, but also the surface details of the planets can be glimpsed. The secondary mirror and main mirror can be adjusted (adjusted) as required to ensure optimum performance at all times.
Fog-barreled eyepieces allow fine focusing. The 25mm and 10mm eyepieces in the basic package give 48x and 120x magnification, while the standard Barlow lens allows for additional magnifications of 72x, 96x, 160x and 240x. A 6x30 Spring-Load finder scope with a fibre-optic sight makes it easy to locate objects.
Equatorial mounts of the EQ-3 provide basic stability and precision. In the longer term, the EQ-5 mount is a better choice, making the telescope more comfortable to use, but also more advantageous for photography. Both versions are of course equipped with fine adjustment, single or twin motor, but can also be upgraded with computer (GoTo) control. The eyepiece tray can be fitted with a wide range of accessories, including the eyepiece body. And the extendable aluminium foot can be adjusted to your height.
