The lightweight design of the Opticron Oregon 20x80 binoculars allows them to be held in the hand for short periods of time. It's an ideal compromise for those looking for the largest binocular possible for stargazing, but don't want to put it on a tripod, which would limit its use. Its black finish gives the product an elegant appearance.
The prisms on the Opticron Oregon 20x80 are made from the higher quality (higher transmission) BAK4 (rather than the inferior BK7 often used on competing models) and are sufficiently large to avoid vignetting in the field of view. All surfaces have a (fully multicoated) anti-glare system for even greater light transmission and thus the best limiting magnitude.
The Oregon 20x80 binoculars include a built-in, sliding photo tripod mount that allows them to be mounted on a photo tripod for extended use. It has a wide field of view of 3.2 degrees and a 17 mm pupil, which is suitable for those wearing glasses.
The 5-year warranty puts it well ahead of the competition.
