The long eye relief provided by the eyepieces also allows comfortable viewing over extended periods. The eco-glass optics are free from lead and arsenic. The spotting scope also features an integrated sliding sunshade, which reduces the amount of stray light entering the scope, further improving image quality.
Nikon Prostaff spotting scopes can be used even in harsh weather conditions, as the body design and O-rings ensure waterproofness (to a depth of 1 metre for up to 10 minutes). The nitrogen gas filling inside the tube prevents the internal surfaces of the optics from fogging up during sudden temperature changes.
