The ZWO Seestar TH10 tripod head is designed for the manufacturer’s S30 and S50 smart telescopes, allowing them to be used in equatorial mode.
The software of these primarily alt-azimuth smart telescopes supports equatorial operation. This enables longer exposure times and more impressive results. Equatorial mode requires the instrument to be tilted to an angle corresponding to the latitude of the observing location. The clearly readable scales on the tripod head make adjustment much easier. Smooth, even movement is ensured by fluid damping.
The base of the tripod head features a standard 3/8" tripod thread, allowing it to be mounted on an optional tripod. If only a tripod with the smaller, more common 1/4" thread is available, the supplied 3/8"–1/4" thread adapter provides a suitable connection. The smart telescope attaches to the head via a quick-release plate.
The ZWO TH10 tripod head can also be used with conventional digital cameras, video cameras, compact spotting scopes, or spotting scopes. It is also suitable for capturing 360° panoramic images.
It offers ±90° adjustment along the elevation axis and has a load capacity of 5 kg.
