Stereo-microscopes owe their popularity to their wide range and ease of use. They are recommended for technicians, (coin) restorers and biologists. Since you don't need to make preparations, you can even examine a whole beetle under them. The view is always almost breathtakingly three-dimensional.

Somewhat uniquely, the microscope houses three pairs of acromatic objectives, with magnifications ranging from 1x-2x-4x. Thanks to effective anti-reflection coatings, they draw a contrasty, sharp image almost to the very edge of the field of view. With a choice of 10x-15x-20x magnification eyepieces, multiple magnification combinations are available. By attaching the rubber eyecups included in the package to the top of the eyepieces, you can block out side scattered light for more comfortable viewing. The size of the field of view varies from approximately 20 mm (10x) to 2.5 mm (80x). The head of the microscope can be slid up and down on a rod, and even turned sideways if required, allowing objects of virtually any size to be placed underneath (the stage provides a sharp image of objects up to 90 mm in size).

The binocular head is tilted at 45°, and its eye relief is freely adjustable between 55-75 mm. Diopter correction is on the left. Illumination is provided by a built-in LED overhead light. The slide has a plastic disc with a black or white surface and can be used on either side depending on the object to be examined.

The basic package also includes a sturdy cover sheet to protect the microscope from dust when not in use.
