The SkyWatcher EQ-3 mechanic is perhaps the largest and most successful of the mid-size mechanics. It is an ideal companion for a 15 cm Newtonian or 10 cm refracting telescope. Both shafts are naturally fine-tuned and rotate 360 degrees without interference.
Adding to its usability, it can be equipped with single or twin motors and can even be upgraded with GoTo controls. A variety of accessories can be placed on the eyepiece tray, even your sighting device. The mechanism has a prismatic rail connection.
The mechanics are available in two different versions: the aluminium foot version is lighter and therefore more transportable, while the steel foot version is slightly heavier but more stable. The pole telescope has a preparation which can be screwed into place with a simple movement.
