Using the dovetail clamp, telescopes with Vixen dovetail bars can be mounted onto various flat surfaces. It can also be used to balance an existing optical tube (SC, MC). Attached to the optical tube's dovetail bar with additional weight, it provides adjustable counterbalancing for accessories on the eyepiece side.
The dovetail clamp features a total of four 1/4" tripod mounting threads: one in the centre and three along the edges. The spacing between the two mounting holes is 35 mm; the manufacturer also supplies M6 threaded countersunk screws and nuts.
