If you wish to operate your mount or motorized controller from a 230V mains supply, you will need a power adapter, which in most cases is not included as standard with the telescope or mount. In most cases, the 2A version is sufficient to power the motors, but if the mount is heavily loaded or you wish to operate several devices, the 5A version is recommended.
