The new ZWO EAF Pro motorized focuser has arrived, featuring a focus motor and associated control that allows the focuser to be adjusted from a computer or via a mobile phone through the ASIAir device.
The ZWO EAF Pro offers several innovations compared to the previous version, such as wireless control of the focuser via a Bluetooth network. Power is supplied by a built-in battery, which can be charged via a USB-C port. The manufacturer has placed two easily operable buttons on the device's housing, allowing manual adjustment of the focuser without a remote control.
It can be easily assembled on the Crayford focuser of popular SkyWatcher telescopes using factory adapters. When connected to our computer, we can adjust the focus with any ASCOM compatible software. A hand controller or temperature sensor can be connected to the unit, with the latter allowing the focuser position to be corrected based on temperature changes.
The ZWO EAF motorized focuser is ASIAir supported, enabling the construction of a fully compatible ZWO system. The motor type is a stepper motor, which allows for absolute positioning, and according to the manufacturer, it can move a load of up to 5 kg with the focuser.
Supported operating systems:
- Newer versions of Windows
- Linux, MacOS 10.4 or higher versions
