The ToupTek off-axis guider (OAG-L) is well suited for astrophotography with APS-C or even full-frame cameras thanks to its large free aperture. It fits perfectly into ToupTek's range of astrophotography products, easily assembling the components into a complete kit.
Using it eliminates the need for a separate guide telescope, so one less mistake can slip into the shooting. ToupTek's off-axis guider redirects some of the telescope's light path to the guide camera sensor using a 10x10 mm prism. Since the same light path is used by the astrophotographic camera as the guider camera, the system eliminates errors due to possible displacement of the separate guide scope.
The focus of the guide camera can be adjusted using a helical focus adjuster. A 1.25" focuser is provided for the camera connection, which has a clamping ring attachment so that the mounting screw leaves no marks on the camera body. There is also a T2 external thread at the end of the focuser.
Thread M48 on the front of the telescope. The ToupTek filter changer can be screwed onto the camera side, otherwise the M54 adapter ring included in the standard package must be fitted, which allows easy connection of cooled Touptek cameras. For cameras with a T2 thread, an additional optional M54/T2 adapter is required.
The off-axis guider uses 17.5 mm light path.
