T2-ring (Sony-A Minolta-A)

T2 rings can be used to mount your DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) or SLR (mirrorless) camera on a telescope or microscope for primary focus photography.

The low profile Canon T2 ring is a good solution in most cases, but is NOT recommended if the thickness of the T2 ring is important. When using a coma corrector, the distance between the corrector and the sensor is important, so in this case we recommend the standard 11mm thick version.

It is important that the front of the telescope has a T2 thread, this can be found on most focusers, adapters etc. If it does not, then a suitable adapter (2"/T2, 1.25"/T2) should be purchased.

Also with a T2 ring + adapter, you can capture images with your DSLR or SLR camera on your biological or stereo microscope, or attach a T2 ring to many nature-optimized spotting scopes.
