T2 for Televue Paracorr

The main optical defect in bright Newtonian telescopes is the so-called coma error, which means that stars are not point-like as they approach the edge of the field of view, but become increasingly elongated. Especially with f/5 or higher brightness systems, this can be visually disturbing, but it is really a serious problem in astrophotography. The solution is a focuser-mounted coma corrector, of which TeleVue's ParaCorr Type-2 coma corrector rises far above its competitors.

The Paracorr is very effective at eliminating the coma error of newtonian telescopes up to F/3. This allows perfect, point-like stars to be seen even at the edge of the field of view for both visual and photographic observations. A great virtue of TeleVue's coma corrector is that it does not add any harmful aberrations (e.g. chromatic aberration, spherical aberration) to the image, and there is no noticeable reduction in light transmission. The focus of the telescope is only slightly stretched by about 15% and can be used with both 1.25" and 2" eyepieces.

For astrophotography, you can use the corrector by unscrewing the eyepiece mount. Even in telescopes with an aperture of f/3, it will perfectly align APS-C image sensors (e.g. Canon EOS cameras). Its ideal sensor distance is about 55 mm. Image sharpness remains perfect across the entire field of view, free of spherical aberrations, color aberrations, and no distorted stars at the edge of the field of view. The Paracorr-T2 adapter can be used to attach the corrector to Canon EOS cameras or other digital cameras.
