The Svbony SV205 colour camera is a simple and affordable way to view and capture the image you see in the binoculars on your computer.
The camera is best used for capturing images of the Moon and planets: simply point the telescope at the Moon or a planet, place the camera in the telescope's eyepiece, and view the real-time image on a laptop or computer.
At the heart of the camera is the IMX415 7.5-megapixel image sensor, manufactured by Sony and capable of 3264 x 2160 pixel resolution. When recording video, it can capture video at 15 fps (frames per second) at full resolution, but at lower 1920 x 1080 pixel resolutions it can capture video at 30 fps.
With tiny 1.45 micron pixels, it can also capture detailed images. Data is streamed to the computer via the much faster USB 3.0 port than USB 2.0, which is needed for the higher resolution. The camera fits into a 1.25" shutter with a filter thread on the front.
The Svbony SV205 camera is a plug-and-play device; no driver is required. For Windows, Sharpcapet is recommended; for Linux, AstroDMx Capture must be downloaded.
