Looking for easy, cable-free control? The new SkyWatcher SynScan Wi-Fi adapter is the perfect choice. Using the freely downloadable SynScan app, the module allows any SkyWatcher GoTo mount to be controlled from an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet, or from a Windows computer, instead of the hand controller, even from several metres away.
We particularly recommend purchasing the Plus or Pro version of the SkySafari 5 app through your phone's app store. This is a complete mobile planetarium program that allows you to control your telescope with just a few clicks via its graphical interface.
The adapter is compatible with the following telescopes:
- SkyWatcher EQ-3 / EQ-5 / HEQ-5 SynScan or SynTrek / EQ-6R / AZ-EQ-5 / AZ-EQ-6 / EQ-8 GoTo mounts
- SkyWatcher Az-Goto / Star Discovery / GoTo Dobson / Allview / Virtuoso mounts
It is, of course, also compatible with retrofitted SynScan upgrade kits.
The product is not compatible with mounts from other manufacturers (e.g. Celestron, Meade), and when used with a mobile phone, it can only be used with Android or iOS devices.
