The SkyWatcher Evolux 62ED apo tube takes the quality of the manufacturer's popular Evostar ED binoculars to a new level. Its improved mechanics and superb optics make it a first-class photographic instrument, but it can also be used as a compact portable visual instrument. The binoculars feature a two-piece 62/400mm apochromatic objective lens with a unique ED lens that provides an essentially colour-defect-free, sharp, contrast-free image, guaranteed by SkyWatcher's proprietary MHTC coating.
The SkyWatcher Evolux 62ED is most notable for its mechanical design: it features a 2.4", 11:1 ratio, two-speed, rack-and-pinion focusing eyepiece with a 2" narrowing adapter as standard accessory. The retractable dew cap reduces the size during transport from 370 mm to 295 mm.
The binoculars come in a carrying case, and the prism ring and tube ring are included in the standard package.
With an optional focus reducer, the focal length can be reduced to 360 mm and you essentially get a four-lens astrograph with f5.6 brightness.
