Do you enjoy observing mysterious nebulae and planetary nebulae with your telescope? Are you a fan of the Veil Nebula or the Owl Nebula? If so, we have a tip to make these objects even more spectacular!
How they work
The Scopium OIII filter, a special filter for observing deep sky objects. Its principle of operation is quite simple: it passes only certain wavelengths of incoming light, precisely those at which the objects above are emitting. This makes the light from these objects more contrasting, almost jutting out from the sky. Of course, they can also be used from the city: they help to overcome scattered background light, but they are not a substitute for dark skies.
They are most effective when observing planetary nebulae, or certain diffuse nebulae! Transmission width 25 nm.
The filters are made of high quality German Schott glass material. They are supplied in a sponge-lined plastic box for safe and long-lasting storage.
