The Nocpix Quest H35R LRF thermal imaging binocular with laser rangefinder combines the comfort of classic binoculars with the modern performance of thermal imaging viewers. In addition to its advanced thermal imaging capabilities, the unit features a built-in laser rangefinder.
How does the Nocpix Quest H35R LRF offer more than the L35R LRF model?
- Higher-resolution sensor (the H35R LRF features a 640 x 512 sensor, while the L35R LRF has a 384 x 288 sensor)
- Its lower base magnification (3x on the H35R LRF versus 5x on the L35R LRF) makes it better suited for stalking, as lower magnification provides a wider field of view.
The Nocpix Quest H35R LRF thermal imaging binocular with laser rangefinder features a highly sensitive (>15 mK) sensor. This allows the thermal imager to detect human-sized heat sources or similar objects at distances of up to 1,800 metres. This Nocpix thermal imager also features a manual focus ring for precise focusing. The unit uses an invisible laser for humans and animals for accurate distance measurement, with a range of up to 1,000 metres.
The unit's optics have an F0.9 focal ratio and collect nearly 20% more light than the widely used F1.0 thermal imaging systems on the market, which are also considered highly light-efficient. The fixed-focus objective lens provides a base magnification of 3x, digitally adjustable up to 24x.
The 640 x 512 sensor is made up of 12 µm pixels, delivering an exceptionally detailed image. The captured image can be viewed on an oval, cold-resistant 1920 x 1200-pixel AMOLED display, providing an experience similar to traditional binoculars. The interpupillary distance can be comfortably adjusted to suit the user's eyes, while dioptre adjustment is available over a wide range of (+-5).
The advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm used in the device enhances the thermal image, providing greater contrast and more detail even in deteriorating weather conditions.
Its wider field of view compared to the L35R LRF makes the H35R LRF suitable for a wide range of wildlife management tasks. It is also suitable for security applications, such as long-range observation, as well as supporting rescue and search operations.
Its extensive settings include various colour modes, hot spot highlighting for rapid detection, and selectable cold/warm display tones. With PIP mode (picture-in-picture), you can view a smaller magnified image while still keeping the surrounding area in view. The thermal imager can also be controlled from a smartphone via WiFi, allowing you to view or save recorded footage. In addition to still images, it can record video with sound thanks to its built-in microphone. In addition to your phone, images can be stored in the built-in 64 GB memory and easily transferred to a computer.
The comfortable housing is rated IP67 for protection against dust and water, making it reliable even in harsh conditions. The thermal imager is powered by one replaceable 18650 battery, with two included in the package. These are widely available, popular batteries that are easy to replace, unlike model-specific battery packs. If this is not enough, external power can also be supplied via the USB-C port. The Nocpix Quest thermal imaging binocular can operate for approximately 6 hours on its own battery.
