The Lunt LS60MT is not only an excellent solar telescope, but can also be used as a "conventional" telescope for nature observation, stargazing or photography. Thanks to its modular design, it is easily convertible: it can be used as a 60 mm solar telescope or as an apochromat with a 70 mm ED lens.
Used as a solar telescope
When used as a solar telescope, the Lunt LS60MT provides a particularly contrasty image of protuberances or filaments on the rim of the solar disk thanks to its 60 mm diameter, non-focusing objective and a bandwidth of less than 0.7 angstroms. The Pressure Tuner allows you to fine-tune the solar telescope to produce the most optimal image in all conditions.
Used as a conventional telescope
With the etalon filter removed, the Lunt LS60MT can also be used as a "conventional" telescope: you get a 70mm diameter, two-piece ED lens. With an optional zenith mirror, it is suitable for stargazing or photography, or with an amici prism it is an excellent nature observation tool.
The telescope is available in several versions:
- With Crayford housing (model C)
- with rack and pinion mount (model marked R&P)
- with premium-quality Feathertouch focuser (model marked FT)
A 2" curtain and a 1:10 microfocus are standard on all three models. The telescope can be purchased with a 6 mm (B600 series) or 12 mm (B1200 series) diameter block filter integrated in the zenith mirror, which can accept 1.25" eyepieces and has a T2 mount. For visual observation there is no significant difference, the B1200 series allows vignetting-free imaging with a larger sensor camera for photography
