Lunt LS50T Ha solar telescope with B400 filter

The Lunt LS50T H-alpha solar telescopes reveal the true, dynamic face of our central star. We watch "live" as the hot hydrogen gas erupting from the Sun's surface evolves as protuberances and changes almost minute by minute before our eyes. If you've only ever seen the surface of our sun in visible light, H-alpha telescopes open up a whole new dimension of solar observation.

Lunt's 50mm and 350mm focal length solar telescopes are excellent instruments for both visual and photographic use. Lunt's light weight and compact size make the telescope extremely easy to carry and even an average photo tripod will hold it steady. A suitable thread for mounting on a photo stand is of course provided on the telescope.

The anti-glare 50 mm etalon filter on the front of the tube guarantees a bandwidth of less than 0.75A. This allows the atmospheric as well as "surface" features of the Sun to be observed with high contrast. The built-in "Pressure Tuning" technology can also be used to control the appearance of shapes (e.g. filaments) on the solar disk, giving the image a spatial appearance.

The Lunt LS50T solar telescope is available in two versions, depending on the size of the block filter built into the zenith mirror: the B400 version with block filter is primarily for visual observations, while the B600 version is designed for a larger vignette-free field of view. The telescope can be focused using thehelical focuser, which has a relatively small backfocus, making it recommended for visual observation. The zenith scope can accommodate any 1.25" eyepiece, which is not included in the basic package.
