The Lacerta ED 2" eyepieces provide beautifully corrected views even in bright instruments. All of their glass air surfaces are fully multicoated, which not only minimizes internal reflections but also maximizes light transmission.
The Lacerta ED 2" eyepieces have focal lengths of 30 and 40 mm, respectively, and are ideal for low and medium magnification, for spotting large nebulae, comets or even the Milky Way. When choosing them, it is also worth considering the size of the exit pupil. For example, with a 120/600 refractor, the 8 mm exit pupil of a 40 mm focal length is no longer usable, so it is better to choose a 30 mm focal length, as the 6 mm exit pupil size will allow most of our eyes to dilate up to 40-50 years of age (and later for those lucky enough).
Both eyepieces have a respectable 69° field of view. The optics are made up of six elements, one of which has the distinction of minimising colour aberration, known as chromatic aberration, through its low colour dispersion material (ED lens element). In addition to reducing chromatic aberration, the ED lens results in a more contrasty view.
Beautiful value for money and optimally corrected optical quality make them highly recommended for both long-focus low-brightness and higher-brightness binoculars.
