The performance of a binocular is degraded to a greater or lesser extent when hand-held. Hand tremors are most disturbing with heavier, higher magnification binoculars, so it is particularly recommended to support them. For this purpose, we recommend the so-called L-adapters, which allow you to mount your binoculars on a (photo) tripod with a 1/4" standard photo thread. The L-adapter is made entirely of aluminium and is therefore more stable than the plastic version; it is recommended for binoculars 60-70 mm in diameter.
For models with a roof prism, the wide L-adapter often does not fit between two optics, in which case Opticron's narrow adapter is a good solution.
