The new Kowa Prominar BD 8x56 XD Binoculars are designed with the needs of hunters in mind. But it is also recommended for those who insist on a premium instrument for everyday use, as well as for those who prefer a larger lens diameter model that provides a clearer image in poorer visibility conditions (twilight, snowfall, fog).
The Kowa Prominar BD 8x56 XD binoculars stand out from the crowd with their high-quality optics, ultra-lightweight yet rugged construction and very small close focus (3 metres!) - you can observe nature's life and hidden secrets up close. The inside of the telescope is filled with nitrogen gas, making it resistant to rain, snow and atmospheric humidity.
The 56 mm lens diameter combined with 8x magnification is ideal for hunters and other twilight observers - a combination that allows enough light into the eye to get a clear, clear image even in twilight.
New solutions for high image quality
A number of factors are "responsible" for premium imaging in the Kowa Prominar BD 8x56 XD binoculars. The manufacturer's proprietary Prominar XD lens elementscater for extreme reduction of chromatic aberration and ensure very high image contrast across the entire field of view.
Light recovery of 99% or more is guaranteed by the C3 coating applied to the finder scope's roof prisms. Thanks to this coating, the finder scope is brighter and sharper than its competitors, and even ensures accurate colour reproduction. The same purpose is served by the multi-layer optical coatings applied to all lenses and all glass.
Also thanks to optical advances, the finder scope has a very small field of view of only 3 metres - even at this close range, it can be used to observe wildlife; the behaviour of game, birds and animals in general.
Compact, robust, waterproof
The Kowa Prominar BD 8x56 XD Binoculars are made from a special magnesium alloy. For this reason, it is lightweight, yet rugged and impact resistant. Its weight is small for its performance (1050 grams), so you won't get tired when observing for long periods of time.
It is filled with nitrogen gas, which prevents moisture from entering the instrument even in the most extreme conditions (heavy rain, snow, fog). However, it is not suitable for underwater use.
