The new Hikmicro Condor CQ50L 2.0 thermal imaging viewfinder camera is easy to use and offers outstanding image detail to help users in a wide range of applications. Small and easy to use with one hand, the thermal imager can be taken almost anywhere, whether hunting, search and rescue, property protection or simply nature observation. It has a built-in laser rangefinder that can be used up to 1000 m with an accuracy of +/- 1 m.
The changes:
The new Hikmicro Condor LRF 2.0 series inherits all the positive features of its predecessor, with the differences coming from its evolution. Its thermal imaging camera housing has undergone serious changes to make it even more practical to use. For example, the distance between the buttons has been increased, making it more comfortable to use with gloves on. On the side near the eyepiece, a new movable aiming dial has been added, making the device more usable with one hand.
It's not just the exterior that has been redesigned. The thermal camera has significantly increased its thermal sensitivity to produce even more detailed images. An OLED display with a larger physical size and higher resolution has been incorporated. To achieve longer battery life, a higher capacity 21700 battery is included instead of the previous 18650 battery.
Key features of the thermal camera:
The soul of the new Hikmicro Condor CQ50L 2.0 viewfinder thermal camera is the professional 640 x 512 resolution 12μm sensor, which is extra-sensitive (NETD < 15 mK), giving you a detailed image even in poor weather conditions. It can detect a human figure from up to 2600 metres, but larger heat sources can be detected from further away. The closest object that can be seen with the device is 5 metres. Superior sensitivity is supported by a F0.9 focal lens with 2.7x optical magnification, which can be digitally increased up to 21.6x in multiple steps.
Of course, the thermal imaging camera is not only capable of detection, but also of capturing the image you see. Video or photo files can be stored on the built-in 64GB memory, even with audio. Of course, you can also save your recordings in albums via WIFI on your smartphone, and easily share your special experiences with friends using the factory app. The app is available for IOS and Android .
While it works well in the cold, its enlarged 1920 x 1080 pixel OLED display offers a richly detailed image in six colour modes, including white highlight, black highlight, red highlight and fusion, as well as red monochrome and green monochrome. The 50 Hz image gives the user a beautiful natural and continuous view.
Of course, the dioptric adjustment on these devices is considered basic, allowing everyone to adjust it to their own eyes within the -5D+3D range. The thermal camera's software supports PIP (Picture in Picture). Its Image Pro algorithm allows you to see finer details, and Zoom Pro improves image quality when using digital zoom by highlighting the central region of the image.
We don't have to be without our device in extreme weather either, thanks to IP67 protection that prevents dust and water from entering the device. What's more, the thermal imaging camera can withstand short periods of immersion in water. Thanks to its solid magnesium frame, if dropped on soft forest ground, no damage is expected, although it is a crime not to take care of such an excellent device. The operation of the device is logical, with a total of three buttons to access the device's functions, made even more usable by the English language menu . The fourth button, the on/off button, is positioned further away from the others to prevent accidental switching off.
A huge advantage of the Hikmicro Condor CQ50L 2.0 thermal camera viewfinder is that it runs on a commercially readily available larger capacity 21700 removable battery, which you can take more of if you don't have access to a suitable power source for charging for an extended period of time. Without WiFi, the device can run for up to 6.5 hours on a single battery. It's worth mentioning that it can also be powered from an external power source via a USB-C connection.
