It often happens that when we want to photograph at prime focus, the focuser proves to be too short, meaning we cannot achieve sharp focus. We may experience the same issue if we wish to use our telescope without a star diagonal. In this case, an extension tube provides a solution, allowing for focusing in such situations as well.
