The DWARF Draco 90/340 smart telescope (SHO version) is a compact, mobile robotic telescope that can be remotely controlled in virtually every respect and is optimised for deep-sky imaging. Its 90 mm aperture, 12-megapixel imaging, cooled and rotatable sensor, and built-in autoguiding are features that have not previously been available in this category. Thanks to its built-in filters, the SHO version is uniquely capable of producing false-colour images.
The Draco's automated functions greatly simplify the first steps of astrophotography while also offering manual adjustment options for advanced users.
Two cameras in one telescope
The telescope features a 90 mm aperture primary optical system with a 340 mm focal length. Its f/3.8 focal ratio provides fast, efficient imaging and an impressive field of view of approximately 2°. When used for daytime photography, the telescope is equivalent to a telephoto lens with a focal length of around 1200 mm.
Thanks to its nearly 86° field of view, the wide-angle camera, which can be used independently of the main camera, is capable of capturing spectacular Milky Way and panoramic images.
Cooled sensor with 12-megapixel imaging
A cooled sensor ensures imaging with an excellent signal-to-noise ratio and captures 12-megapixel images in astrophotography mode. Sensor cooling and exposure times of up to 300 seconds make the Draco suitable for more advanced deep-sky imaging than smaller smart telescopes. The heat generated by the sensor is used by the control system to prevent dew formation on the optics, so nighttime condensation is not a problem.
The device supports astrophotography with several built-in filters: in addition to the standard UV/IR-cut filter, it also features 2 dual-band filters. One operates in the H-alpha and OIII wavelength ranges, while the other operates in the OIII and SII ranges. By digitally processing images taken consecutively with the two filters, so-called Hubble Palette false-colour images can be produced, representing a professional level in amateur astronomy.
Safe solar imaging is enabled by the ND5 solar filter included in the standard package, which can be mounted externally on the instrument.
Rotatable sensor and built-in autoguider camera
The capabilities of the DWARF Draco 90/340 smart telescope do not end here: its sensor can be physically rotated by a motor, allowing the orientation of the field of view to be adjusted as desired. This is particularly useful in alt-azimuth mode, where it helps compensate for field rotation.
The built-in guide camera continuously monitors the stars and helps correct sky tracking. As a result, the risk of image blur is reduced during longer exposures without the need to install an external guide scope and separate autoguider. This minimises the number of failed images, increasing the efficiency of astrophotography.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC
The DWARF Draco offers numerous connectivity options. Via Wi-Fi, the telescope can be remotely controlled and images downloaded from up to 10 m away. With the manufacturer's app, the telescope can even be remotely controlled over the internet from the other side of the world.
Through the USB-C port on the device, you can access not only its 128 GB memory but also charge the built-in 10,000 mAh battery, which can power the smart telescope for approximately 5 hours.
The IP56 dust and water resistance rating helps protect the telescope's internal components from environmental effects. The manufacturer specifies an operating temperature range of -20 °C to 45 °C. The telescope weighs approximately 5.5 kg, making it easy to carry with one hand. Special attention was given during the design process to ensure that the robust metal frame provides maximum stability.
With the small tripod included in the standard package, the telescope can be used in alt-azimuth mode. An optional equatorial wedge enables equatorial mode, providing even greater precision, especially when capturing long-exposure deep-sky images.
With the app operated via a mobile phone or tablet, all telescope functions are accessible: the Sun and Moon can be observed in live view, while the device can also automatically process deep-sky images, including live stacking.

Who do we recommend the DWARF Draco for?
The DWARF Draco is a truly versatile smart telescope: it is suitable for capturing advanced deep-sky images, but can also be used as a wide-angle telephoto lens for nighttime or daytime panoramic photography. Thanks to the mobile app, it is extremely simple and user-friendly to operate—almost child's play. Its compact size and low weight make it easy to transport.
As the telescope does not have a dedicated eyepiece, it is not suitable for visual observation. It is also not recommended for those specifically looking for a device optimised for solar, lunar and planetary imaging.
