A dovetail bar mounted to the optical tube provides a convenient and practical way to attach it to a mount. Dovetail bars are most commonly attached to two tube rings rather than directly to the optical tube, allowing the tube to be rotated within the rings.
The stated length of the dovetail bars refers to their overall length. Their maximum width is approximately 42 mm, making them compatible with all mounts that use a Vixen-standard telescope attachment system, including:
- SkyWatcher EQ-3, EQ-5, HEQ-5, EQ-6, as well as their Pro versions
- Celestron CG-4, Advanced EQ-5 GoTo, CGEM
The Dovetail Bar (14 cm, white) features four through-holes for attaching tube rings, as well as a central 1/4" threaded hole for a photo tripod. The two outer holes have a diameter of 7 mm and are spaced 126 mm apart, while the two inner holes have a diameter of 9 mm and are spaced 60 mm apart.
