Light blue #82A colour filter (73% opacity): To highlight low-contrast details of solar system objects (Sun, Moon, planets), you can use colour filters as you like. The working principle of colour filters is that they transmit light in the same or similar colour range as their own colour to a greater extent than in the complementary colour range.
For example, the complementary colour of red is blue, the complementary colour of red is green, and the complementary colour of yellow is purple. As the color filter darkens the complementary color, it causes a contrast enhancing effect.
Our colour filters are 1.25" in size, have a high quality glass material and anti-reflective coatings to ensure excellent image quality. It is very important to choose a filter for the object you are observing and the diameter of the telescope. Darker, smaller filters can only be used effectively with larger diameter binoculars.
A light blue colour filter is suitable for use with telescopes as small as 6 cm diameter, and for almost all diameters. Its general contrast enhancing effect makes it universal. For Jupiter enthusiasts, this filter is almost indispensable, providing contrast to highlight the dark bands and polar regions in the gas giant's atmosphere. It also nicely shows the ruffled structure of the cloud bands in good atmospheric conditions, brightening up the Great Red Spot, making it even easier to see. It also generally increases contrast for moon and solar viewing, but does not replace the solar filter, but complements it... It also highlights the very faint greyish bands of Saturn. And if all that wasn't enough, in the blue colour range the filter strongly cuts orange and red tones, reducing the harmful effects of light pollution. The orange sky background is slightly darkened, and the filter noticeably "cools" the image. It can therefore be considered as an alternative to the cheapest filters for reducing light pollution.
Watch out: always use a solar film when observing the sun!
