The Baader Hyperion 5 mm eyepiece offers a spacious 68° field of view—just about as much as the eye can take in at once without moving.
Its 8-element optical design in five groups delivers a sharp, chromatic aberration-free image across the entire field of view, with a comfortable 20 mm eye relief. Thanks to its modern glass types and special anti-reflection coatings, it provides outstanding light transmission and true-to-life colour reproduction. Internal anti-reflection ridges eliminate ghost images.
With the eyecup removed, an M43x0.75 thread is revealed at the top of the eyepiece for attaching various cameras; an M43/T2 adapter is required.
The eyepiece shows a similarly large area of the sky as a longer focal length Plössl eyepiece, while its higher magnification makes celestial objects appear more impressive. The focal length of the eyepiece can optionally be modified using fine tuning rings or a 2” Baader filter.
The eyepiece is compatible with both 1.25” and 2” focusers.
