Canon EOS SLR cameras are widely used by astrophotographers. As these are designed primarily for daytime use, the chip in them is not very sensitive to the hydrogen-alpha wavelengths that are important for astrophotographers.
Fortunately, there is a solution! By replacing the UV/IR block filter in them, the sensitivity of the cameras can be greatly increased, allowing even more spectacular astrophotography. Compare the images without and with the filter!

Attention! Replacing the filter will void the warranty of the camera, in addition, manual white balance adjustment (or use of an external filter) is required for daytime use to ensure scene correct images. A charged battery, battery charger and memory card are also required for filter replacement!
Adjustment is only available for DSLR (SLR) cameras, not MILC cameras.
