Why is the SkyWatcher amici prismatic polar binocular ballast so useful? In most cases, the pole telescope of a mechanics is at an angle and height that is not comfortable to say the least. With the SkyWatcher amici prismatic polar scope ballast, looking in from a 90° off-axis direction makes the process of setting up the pole more comfortable. A particular advantage is that switching between 1x and 2x magnification of the ballast also allows for better visibility of the fine patterns of the precession-corrected crosshairs of the polariscope, allowing for more accurate alignment. The amici prism solution results in an image with an equidistant position
