If you want to operate your mechanics or motorised controls from 230V mains power, you will need a mains adapter, which in most cases is not a standard accessory for your telescope or mechanics. In most cases, the 2A version is sufficient to run the motors, but if the mechanics are heavily loaded or you want to run more loads, it is better to consider the 5A version.
The 12V cigarette lighter version is suitable for powering SkyWatcher EQ-6R / AZ-EQ-5 / AZ-EQ-6 mechanics without the use of an additional converter.
